Normative activities
According to its legally prescribed scope of work, the Information Commissioner initiates the adoption or amendment of regulations, in order to ensure the implementation and to enhance the right of access to information and re-use of information. The Commissioner actively participates in the elaboration of subordinate regulations whose adoption stems from the Right of Access to Information Act. The Commissioner also participates in drafting of cross-sectoral analyses and reports referring to statutory scope for the needs of state administration bodies and international organizations.
In addition, the Commissioner is actively involved in public consultation procedures in the process of drafting national strategic documents, laws and other regulations with a view to addressing the need for their alignment with the requirements arising from the Right to Access Information Act.
For the purpose of standardizing the procedures under the Right of Access to Information Act, the Commissioner develops and distributes guidelines for compliance with certain provisions of the law, which are published on Commissioner website, in the search engine of decisions and opinions and are distributed through the Commissioner's newsletter.
