Constitution of the Republic of Croatia (Official Gazette 85/10 – consolidated text) “The right to access information held by public authorities is guaranteed. Restrictions on the right of access to information must be proportionate to the nature of the need for restriction in each particular case and necessary in a free and democratic society and are prescribed by law. “
Right to Access to Information Act („Official Gazette“, No. 25/13. i 85/15.)
The Right of Access to Information Act regulates the right of access to information and the reuse of information held by public authorities, the principles of access to information and the re-use of information, the right to access to information and the re-use of information, the right to exercise and to protect rights access to information and reuse of information, scope, mode of operation and conditions for appointing and dismissing the Information Commissioner, inspection supervision over the implementation of this Act, misdemeanor provisions regarding the exercise of the right of access to information, and other obligations of the public authorities. Directive 2003/98 on the re-use of information in the public sector has been transposed into the Law due to the connection with the right of access to information, as has been done by other European Member States, for example, the Republic of Slovenia. The Act contains provisions in accordance with Regulation 1049/2001 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 30 May 2001 on public access to European Parliament, Council and Commission documents.
