Pursuant to the provisions of the Right to Access to Information Act, the Information Commissioner submitted to the Croatian Parliament the Report on the Implementation of the Right to Access Information Act for 2018.
The report is based on the data collected from a total of 4.856 bodies of public authority, ie 84% of the 5,797 bodies that were obliged to submit the Report on February 21, 2019.
It is a general assessment that the state of transparency and openness of the public authorities gradually improves, both in terms of strengthening information on the Internet and in the quality of handling of users’ demands. Public authorities become more accountable according to their statutory obligations, but there are still concerns about a large number of illegal solutions. At the same time, citizens increasingly use the right of access to information.
